Kathleen is a Wyoming native, born and raised in Cody, near Yellowstone Park. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming and a law degree from Seattle University. Now living in the Pacific Northwest, her writing reflects a love of the rivers, mountains, and open country of the American West and her home state.
During a career as a public attorney in the Washington Attorney General’s Office, Kathleen worked on diverse issues, ranging from environmental matters to death penalty appeals. Her most recent novel, Until Dead, under the pen name K.D. Mix, grew out of her work on two executions by hanging in Washington State. With her legal career behind her, Kathleen now spends her time writing, conserving the West’s wild places, travelling, and fly fishing.
